How to Install HP Wireless Printer?

The HP printers, like many other printers on the market, thanks to technological progress, offer multiple ways of connecting to the PC:

USB: The most used still today. Ideal if the printing device was on the same support surface as the computer or in any case near it. This connection method is recommended up to distances of 5 meters (beyond this cable length, if this is not amplified, malfunctions may occur).

Ethernet: On average used, it is convenient when the printer is near the Wi-Fi router. It is an excellent connection, given the high performance in terms of data transfer speed that the Ethernet cable offers. Ideal if you need to print large files.

Wireless: although it is the least performance mode in terms of speed. It is instead the most functional in terms of comfort.

The wireless or Wi-Fi connection will allow you to print files from your computer or mobile. You’ll need to make sure the printer has everything you need: ink cartridges, paper, and is connected to start setup.

It is recommended for use when for logistical reasons (peripheral and PC at a distance that cannot be covered by the cable), the first two connections are not possible.

  • The first step is to connect the printer to the power line and turn it on using the appropriate power button. After turning it on, you will have to perform some simple operations.
  • The second step will be to access the HP official website, identify the Technical Support Home page section, type the printer model in the search section, and download the correct drivers. Once these drivers have been downloaded, you can proceed with the classic double mouse click on the .exe file to start the installation procedure. Remember this is only if you don’t have a CD.
  • If you have the CD, everything will be provided.

For the network configuration, two alternatives are possible, depending on the printer model purchased/owned.

What will differentiate the models and the relative configuration procedure, in this case, will be the presence or absence of a touchscreen display and a numeric keypad.

Method 1: printer WITHOUT display / numeric keypad

After installing the program and starting it, press the Auto Wireless Connect button located on the printer. In doing so, the device will be available for research on the net by the software.

Follow the on-screen instructions provided by the configuration program. You can reach the network screen and then choose the appropriate option Wireless Ethernet network.

Finally, the last step will be to send the wireless configuration to the printer. With these simple configurations, the computer will be able to locate the printer within your Wi-Fi network. Of course, to complete the procedure, it is necessary to make them connect to the system entirely automatically.

Method 2: printer WITH touchscreen display / numeric keypad

If the printer was equipped with the classic LCD and a numeric keypad, press the menu button or the settings icon directly on the touch screen.

After accessing the relevant network section, select the Wi-Fi items. And immediately connect to the Wi-Fi network from the configuration menu.

Next, you will have to choose the name of the network to which you want to connect the HP printer, and following the easy on-screen instructions, you can complete the installation procedure. At the end of this procedure, you will be asked for the network password.

Once the printer has made the network connection (attention: it may take a few minutes before accessing it), a notification message will appear on the computer.

Final opinion:

By following the remaining instructions that the software will give, you can complete the configuration. The printer will be operational and, after inserting the appropriate HP cartridges or HP toner, you can start using it for images and documents.
